i wouldn't have put it quite that strongly, but they would tend to see
the problem through a particular lens.  offroaders - particularly
those contemplating engine swaps - are very fond of big hp and hard
usage, and you wouldn't believe a vehicle could do what some of these
folks do routinely.  this is a bad combo for any tranny.  and they
aren't as a rule any more immune than the rest of us in assuming that
if there's an adapter for it, it must be alright.
