Re: [Amc-list] m8 transmission

The reports I've seen is it will work. Not sure how much work it takes.
The FMX parts may be cheaper, may not.
It may be worth a try if your ready to convert to open driveline. Otherwise I'd investigate what the stock tranny needs.
I believe there is at least one shop out there that will build you a looser converter should you desire one.
Shift kits? Well, I know in the Kraft article they mention the primary things they did to the trans was boost line pressure and use Ford clutches.
If I can get healthy enough [I know enough whining] I'll be usning a Turbo 400 behind mine to an open driveline, be it in the American or the Ambassador. I know the Turbo 400 is a heavy hp sucker, but I won't have to worry too much about breaking the thing!
If it all goes in the American and I want it to go fast I'll try a 100hp shot of giggle juice. I'd hesitate to put that into the Warner without the best tranny prep out there.
