[Amc-list] Back in the day, Was Fire up the Way Back Sherman!

Snip
* Coffee can exhaust tip to give it the O so cool gas powered weed eater
sound (I bet this option would have been called Sounds-O-Noying had AMC
offered back in the day).
Snip
They were called echo cans and the emphasized the sound of the Smitty
glass packs.

Snip
* Big wing off the back (maybe spend an afternoon with a SawzAll, a
reproduction Daytona/Superbird wing, and a fiberglass repair kit?).
Snip
The were referred to as TransAm spoilers and were equally effective for
your street machine. However "Fins" could be a good parallel.

Snip
* Lambo style ground effects (probably need the fiberglass kit here
too).
Snip
I am surprised you don't remember the CanAM craze. Just as silly!

Snip
* 18 inch wheels wrapped in rubber band sized tires.
Snip
Standard equipment on the '32 Ford, however commonly replaced by
"Balloon" Tires.

Snip
* Neon lights.
Snip
Blue Dot tail lights and multi-color reflectors for license plate
fasteners.

Snip
* Paint the car chrome yellow except the hood which should look like
carbon fiber.
Snip
It hasn't changed except the hood was flat black!

* Turbo charged, fuel injected flat head six.
Well, not turbocharged but the Shark Nose Graham and the '54 Kaiser were
supercharged and were flat head I-6's.

It was interesting listening to the upcoming generation looking at a
Stovebolt powered Rat Rod trying to figure out what the 3 chrome things
on the engine were. They had never seen a carburetor before.

And the world turns!
And we all have fun.
But no matter how you hack it, I am still impressed by a 12 second Honda
that is driven to the drag strip, is street and smog legal and can get
35mpg while doing it. Now if I can only get my fuel injected Spirit to
go that fast with out spending the obligatory $15,000 required to get it
done.
