Re: [Amc-list] Unbelievable!!

I can believe it.
The car does not look "too bad" needs lots of TLC. But to the masses the swap can be apealing and the engine is in there and supposedly running. It would make it easier for Joe Blo to get his "hotrod" done. $1500 in this day and age for a solid 69 two door sedan in the northeast ain't bad in my book. Of course it also depends on if the car is decent in person.
  I hate to admit it, but my car came "that close" to getting a SBC! I bought it with the intention of doing the swap. I had access to a free SBC 400, engine and trans in good running condition. It seemed simple enough, but I stumbled on one of Dick Datsons adds for his "books" and independant magazine so I bought them. One read thru and I was hooked on a turbo six. Then as time passed I realized the car I had intended to build [1/4 mile play toy] was for a guy that no longer existed. I had little time with two young sons, for drag racing. My wallet was also empty being a stay-at-home dad. So I started doing body work and getting it ready for the road. Next the free 4.0L came my way, etc;etc;etc;

  My car was saved by Dick Datson! Some day I should drop him a note of thanks...
If anyone is in contact feel free to forward this!
