Re: [Amc-list] 62 classic shock bushings

I forgot his car is lowered.
The guy that bagged a 63 Classic on the forum had a shop do it. They changed the shock mounts to the cross bolt type or eye type and relocated them for better articulation. I figured they either used the jeep adapters or made some. I asked what shock they used and the owner didn't know! just "something that fit". Great info! I know! I asked him if he could find out what they used, but never saw a answer. It would drive me buggy for someone to put parts on my car that I did not know what to buy to replace them with if they failed!
With mine being on the lowering plates I didn't want the wheel travelling too high up into the wheel well. I bought the longest Poly round snubbers Prothane makes. They are like 2 3/4" long and mount into the American's spring seats just like stock ones. I still have plenty of travel.
If Dave has enough travel he could do the same. I'm not sure how he lowered his.
