I read about this years ago from a Ford guy. He did this and ground a notch on one side of the head of the key so he knew what side to use. The new style locks that I know of all only use one side of the key at a time. The 97 Jeep key and the 01 Dodge key have different plastic heads but the key slots/sizing seem to be the same. Now I got myself wanting to get one made just for $#!ts and giggles to see if it actually works!!! If I got it on the cheap metal blank I could still notch it and I just have to keep it away from the wife and kids!!! -- Mark Price Morgantown, WV 1969 AMC Rambler, 4.0L, EFI, T-5 -------------- Original message ---------------------- From: Tom Jennings <tomj@xxxxxxx> > > > I've considered getting a key cut with one side Jeep and one side Dodge, but > I'm afraid my kid or wife would snap the key off or it would be too frustrating > flipping side to side everytime I put the key in upside down. > > What a great idea!!! > > _______________________________________________ > Amc-list mailing list > Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx > http://www.amc-list.com/mailman/listinfo/amc-list _______________________________________________ Amc-list mailing list Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://www.amc-list.com/mailman/listinfo/amc-list
