I wonder if that's why they moved the switch inside on the pedal late in the 60's? I know my 69 has it there. I think they may have made the move when they went to cable throttle control.
  I've never been a big fan of throttle linkage. Not after having seen a friends car that suffered a motor moutn failure and the throttle would bind at full throttle whne the engine lifted under aceleration! Kind of scary! I have a set up from a parts American I plan on using in the Ambassador.
