I don't think I've actually pulled a T-86 trans, just the T-96 and T-89.
Sounds like the T-86 is closer to the T-96 pattern, which I believe is
just a little wider than tall. T-86 may have a pattern of it's own
though. I found that the SR-4 even shares the top two bolt holes with a
T-96, so the top holes seem to be about the same on all of them -- you
can only go so far into the floor!

i think you're right, shared bell but with 2 [or 1 1/2] patterns.
