A: Yet another option is a TH400 with adapter from a Full Size Jeep. (like the one I have. Mine is getting the nailhead TH400 trans from my '73 J4000 after being rebuilt to take a NP208J or NP208F then it will be going into my friend's rust free '83 Wagoneer if a 4.0L doesn't pop up. We saved the early Wagoneer motor mounts so it'll be an easy swap!)
