Went up to U Pull It today. Fewer and fewer AMCs every time... Today was odd. A 53 4-door Nash, looks like it was driven in (but very rough). Pretty much stripped of all trim and detail, but the motor, trans (I think) and rear still in place. Some 6 looks like the 195.6, but water pump is older nash style. Even the radiator was decent. I took the fuel pump, it was off the car. Not one speck of chrome, door panel, etc left. Seats there, frames OK but fabric trash. Model 5375. 77 Hornet, 7705 (4-door). Body quite nice except right rear quarter 'cut' (sideswiped a truck?) No motor. Auto trans. I took the rear brake setup (10x1.75) which entailed of course axle pulling. Brakes and drums were near-new with all new springs etc. Someone else got the disc setup. That was it for AMCs; didn't look at Jeeps, I'm sure there were a few. Keleigh, I got you a dipstick, gimme physical mail address, I'll bend it up into a wad and put it in an envelope, it's easier to mail that way... unless you object to that of course. It had one of those infernal, new-fangled electric wiper setups, instead of good-enough-for-me vacuum wipers; took switch, connectors, etc, will probably eBay that or keep as spare. I hate it when people peel back dashboards to get one component! Totally ruined a good dash pad, center section, etc. I did get two perfect-condition front kick panels for my Hornet, I've been looking for some time. Now I have to figure out how to get the axle nuts off with the axles on the bench. The car was on stands in the yard, no way to get them off there. I'll just clamp a steel wheel to something outside with a nylon cargo belt and wrench it off I guess. Got some PS pump caps for my neighbor's Dart; he wasn't sure if it's old style or new style, so I got both! Paid $45 for the whole lot, not bad! _______________________________________________ Amc-list mailing list Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://www.amc-list.com/mailman/listinfo/amc-list
