Re: [Amc-list] Aluminum Radiators done and ready

We actually already make a stainless cover for the tops of aluminum side
tank rads:

On a probe:

id=33

On a 1966 Nova (few inches shorter):

We haven't measured yet for the AMC one but will have them in the next
few days.

Nicer then that one (which does look really good) we might be doing a
top plate that covers from the top of the core support over the whole
thing excluding the rad cap as well. I think I spotted a cardboard
mockup my buddy was trying a few days ago. I'm talking about the metal
plate that's a filler panel, think it's held on by 5/16" bolts. Here is
the best pic I have of that panel:

I'd say it's the rusty/dirty/crappy looking thing in the pic but that
describes most of my car excluding the radiator right now.

Looks great! It just needs one thing -- a "cap" to go over that top
trough. That would make it look more like a top tank radiator, and just
give it a cleaner installed look. The only other solution is to make a
new cover panel for the front of the radiator that extends over this
area also.

The difference between six and V-8 is just the set-back of the brackets.
A V-8 radiator will bolt right in place on a six cylinder, but the
brackets (if on the engine side of the support) might place it to close
to the engine. If the brackets mount on the grille side using spacers
would not be a problem.
