I don't see why using a 79+ spindle and rotor with a 77-78 caliper and
bracket wouldn't work. All specs except the bearings appear to be the
same. Just to be safe, check rotor thickness before attempting this.
There's a slim chance that the big bearing Small Bendix caliper rotor is
the same as Big Bendix caliper rotor... I can't recall 100%, but I don't
think they are, I'm reasonably sure the Small Bendix uses the 0.8x thick
rotor, not the 1.x one used by Big Bendix (the thick ones should only be
on big cars).

yup, you're right.  just checked my napa book.  i recall the mitchell
interchange differently though.

hmmm...  maybe they wanted to standardize on one set of bearings?

wonder if one could hybridize these, '77-8 calipers/brackets with
'79-up rotors/spindles?  it's entirely possible the calipers and
brackets are already the same '77-'81.
