Mark & all,
  Another problem with welding the hub to the axle is that the hub and
the axle are made out of two different materials which makes welding them
together very hard or impossible if you would want it to last. I did have
the hub and axle welded once at the dragstrip just to get the Rebel
Machine home, but them replaced the hub and axle with a good one.
