is the pony a truck?  the big 3 successfully lobbied congress to pass
a japanese truck import ban back in teh early '80s iirc, and since
then all the little 'japanese' pickups have been rebadged detroit
models.

it is with morbid amusement that i see japanese companies successfully
import their suvs as -cars- but get them past the epa and dot etc as
-trucks-.
