I plan to do the quick fix with coffee cans, tin snips, patching cement and
baling wire (literally - I work at AGCO in Hesston, Kansas, and write the
operating manuals for square balers, including the one that uses baling
wire) to get the car home. As to a muffler job, Midas quoted me about $350.
Another national shop was in the same region. They both said the pipes are
not standard and they would have to bend them on site.
