Like the glove box door, it just doesn't align properly when closed. NO, I'm not that picky, but close. My main complaint is the cold or high idle is too low or even non-existant. I've looked in the Motor manual and the adjustment procedure isn't very clear. Can anyone explain the adjust process for this problem? 232 with a one barrel carb, automatic transmission and choke. It took me a month of fiddling to get mine "functional". it's one of those most-annoying features... if I adjust it to close OK, it rattles constantly (the U-shaped loop in the dash-mounted latch). The door when closed stands vertically, encouraging rattles. I tried rubber bumpers (slight force door-to-dash) (too fussy, and they fell off), absolute perfection in adjust, ent. I finally settled for too-tight; the door requires a bit of a slam, but then at least the latch is under a bit of tension and stops the rattle. Oh yeah the door doesn't perfectly align with the rest of the dash insert. The dash door escuctheon is of course separately adjustable, but it still doesn't align. I am reminded that my car probably cost $2500 new, and is not a hand-fit Rolls where some craftsmammal spent a week adjusting the brass hinges. _______________________________________________ AMC-List mailing list AMC-List@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://www.amc-list.com/mailman/listinfo/amc-list or go to http://www.amc-list.com
