I suppose my case itself was a bit extreme; it was a very steep hill (20th St upslope, Potrero Hill, up from 3rd St) and the station wagon was loaded with camping gear (the car's maiden long-distance voyage). (I actually continued the trip, using only 2nd and 3rd. On it's 2nd long-distance trip, to Portland from San Fran, the OD relay stuck for a second or two, shorting the points longer than the 1 - 2 revs, filled the exhaust system with LPG+air, sparked it off, >>KABOOM<<, and ballooned a brand-new steel muffler, blowing out one end. I switched to a little air-cooled BW in 1990; it's still there). > i've also been told that the stock - and afaik rare - t14-o/d is > exactly the same length as a non-o/d t-96. I have one of those T14's with Laycock-Denormanville OD unit -- and paid a lot for it. It's mid-1970's though, open driveline.
