If I pissed anyone off by agreeing to what was said by Doc and Frank, I apologize. I did not, however, offer any unneeded criticisms either, in my opinion. I have never seen the show(I live in the sticks with no money, i.e. cable or sat tv), and probably never will. So I am unqualified to comment on the show itself. As far as the particular job which was mentioned, I feel IT speaks for itself. When it comes to dude in gear you don't love, or who speaks in a way you find irritating, again, without need for unqualified criticism, I just have to say, "Too freakin' bad, guess you just have to live with it." My son dresses like that, talks like that(probably. Haven't heard the TV guy), and right now he's waist deep in his Rambler. I don't like how he dresses and talks. Big deal. None of my business. This is the United freakin' States, and you do what you want. Wa are talking about AMERICAN motors corporation. Eddie, the piece you are looking at is the gear selector lever. The actual lever attached to the shift shaft. First you undo the bolt on the lever for the kickdown, lift it off, then undo the bolt(or whatever's left on the shaft), and the shifter lever comes off. If the splines are screwed up, it may be possible to broach them back into shape with a chisel and very light work with a ball-peen(don't use a carpenter's hammer. Too hard, therefore brittle. Skids off and hard to control. Hurts chisel AND hammer, and maybe operator). Protect the Transmission case if you do this. A big washer should work. mike __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Mail has the best spam protection around http://mail.yahoo.com
