Maine? That's a new one on me, I wasn't aware of that! I am familiar with the Kansas debauchery, which started before the war, and I seem to recall had a lot to do with no more slave states being admitted to the union in the late 1850s. Oh well, I'm not sure Wisconsin in general, and Kenosha in particular, is "famous" for such tings. I think someone dediced a Civil War museum would be a bigger draw for tourist dollars than a Jeffery/Nash/American Motors museum. That there are auto museums in nearby Hartford and Racine (there's a dedicated Nash display at a museum in Racine) may have had an influence as well. All I'm saying is if that's the way it's going to be in Kenosha, why not support expansion of one of those existing museums -- provided they would be interested in a large display of J/N/AM vehicles. I know it's not right where Ramblers were made, but there's nothing but houses where the plant was, except for the engine plant. "Home" was destroyed a long time ago, and if! Kenosha isn't willing to do more than have a six to eight car "showroom" for 200+ years of automotive history, I think "we" (AMC enthusists) should consider other towns. Hartford is only an hour or two from Kenosha (just an estimate from looking at a map). That's not far out of the way for someone going to a big show and just wants to drop by where the plant was.
