Frank; in many states that missed out on actually
being involved in conflicts, many confederate
sympathizers created raids and battles to draw
manpower away from the various theaters. Maine and
Kansas are famous for this, as soldiers or civilians
attacked towns. The money and materials seized from
these raids were either kept for their use or sent to
