low-buck shiny 60's cruiser rod

On to the ragtop I now own, Anyone want to help me decide if low gloss black with red wheels and small hubcaps would be a good idea on my 65 Ambassador Conv?
It should make a cool low buck sled with all the stuff I've crounged for it! NO HIGH tech crap, just an old school street driven car pitted chrome and all!
Thoughts? Souces for cheap Paint prodicts that hold up? LOWBUCK on this one, All the way!!!

I like the look. Personally, I'd go with low gloss too, and the
simple bold colors (black, red) but since the ambo has stainless
and chrome, you'd either have to strip and fill, or simpyl go with
it!

The stainless will jump out over the flat -- use it. Buff it up
with steel wool, keep the chrome, and Frank's idea of trim rings
w/dog dish I like better than full wheel covers.

I like dog dish hubcaps (because even 2006 econocars come with
alumuinum wheels these days -- sheesh!) but they do look
'stripper' -- the trim rings make the wheels look bigger, add
trim-compatible metal shine and don't cost much -- no one will be
out to swipe 'em from the grocery parking lot.
