" > It's a later model 232 6 cylinder and the guy who I " > got the car from drilled holes in the original transmission " > (3 spd. w/overdrive) to make the engine bolt up. what kind of a hack was that guy?!?!? i'm guessing that the 'later model' 232 is '72 or later, with the v8 bolt pattern. if the original holes on your tranny are still usable, a '72-5 3sp bell from a six or 304 is an exact match for your situation. the tranny in those is a warner t-14 with a nose identical to your t-96. some time between '75 and '76 a different tranny and bellhousing were brought in. there are multipattern bells you could use, but they don't have the small retainer hole you need to line the tranny up with the flywheel properly.
