Re: 60 Rambler American

As stated in a previous post that is a mean woman. A tractor? Where can
you drive a tractor for fun unless you haul it somewhere with a truck
and trailer and sit there and watch the grass die under it for lack of
sunlight. A car you can drive!!!! even locally to a rod run or a car
show for fun, and have somthing different. Me and my wife have been
doing that with our now grown 3 kids since 1977. The baby is going to be
27 years old soon and owns 2 Javelin's. I learned to drive on a 60
American 4 door in 1962, it had a 90 hp flathead six, auto and non-power
drum brakes and vacuum wipers. It was a real chick magnet and really fun
to drive :-( LOL. Fix it or find some one to save it. I have been
married for almost 37 years (TO THE SAME WOMAN) I listened to her once
when we were married for 2 years about buying a car and that was the
first and last time it ever happened. Wives interfering with a husbands
hobby has long been a sore subject with me. If you are not using the
mortgage or rent money, sleeping with her friends, sisters, mother or
anyone else and giving the wife well deserved quality time why can't you
have a hobby we enjoy, what ever it is? As long as they are involved in
it. My wife and kids have always been involved in it with me, it is and
was a family thing. My brother who sold his 70 Javelin in 76 and now can
afford one has found one near his son-in-laws house in Phoenix. I doubt
that the ball and chain he is married to "WILL ALLOW" him to buy it with
part of "HIS" family inheritance we received 1 1/2 years ago even after
building them a real nice new house this spring. Sad really sad. Me on
the other hand saved a nice orange 74 Hornet Hatchback from being cut up
and being made into a race car with probably a brand "X" engine and
making a nice cruiser out of it. Spent 10,000$ on it in 2 years and not
a peep out of my wife. My daughter said daddy now that you got the
money why don't you buy a new car. Sorry I'll keep my old ones. Sorry
for the long post but girl friends, wives and cars are hard to deal
with. I have seen many friends sell nice cars because their wives and
girl friends said so!!! On my orange Hornet purchase 2 years ago, the
wife came home and I told her I bought the car, it came up suddenly late
on a sat. afternoon while she was out and 2 hours later it was mine with
the help of a really good friend. I had chased this car for 5 years to
buy it. All the wife said was "What Ever" and walked away. Due to women
on this list and children who may read this I have really toned down the
actual wording on this post. This is a really a very sore subject with
me as I have seen many good cars go to the crusher because of this "Get
A Tractor" type deal. "Tractor This"
"Doc"
