Re: Eagle heater core

You might want to remove the glove box too and door too. Makes it easier to see, get light in there, and gives a little more room. That goes for ANY car! Leaving the door in saves you a little time, but having it out of the way saves a lot more trouble than removing it! I've learned over the years that a lot of the "short cut" operations (like not taking 15 minutes to remove the glovebox and door, and 20 to put back -- door has to be adjusted) might make the job half the time shorter (45 minutes to R&R only saves about 15-20 minutes), but man is it oh so much less trouble and aggravation to havethe #$%$ glove box and door out of the way!

It's only the #%$# box and door, by the way, when you bang your head on it, have to reach around it, didn't see a screw because of no light or blockage, or you bend/break some part of it in the preocess of removing the heater core. You're supposed to get wiser as you get older, and this is one wisdom I'm passing on, but don't always remember until I've reached the point that it becomes a #$%^% something or other....

Remove the lower dash tray, remove the blower motor and heater hoses, remove either one or two nuts under the hood, then there's a screw or two on the inside of the car. Loosen the top screws across the dashboard and loosen the lower dash bolt on the passenger side so that you can pull the dash back just a bit.

There are a few screws holding the heater core into the box. Replace the core and installation is pretty much just the opposite of removal.
