It really looks bad when a respected publication makes stupid mistakes like this! So much for credibility. Hurst didn't modify any factory cars until the late 60s, I couldn't find any mention of a Hurst modified car until 1968. $9,600 for a 63 American hardtop is top dollar though. Should have been a well optioned/restored car. About time the "crackerbox" Ramblers got a little respect! "Third Rock from the Sun" helped that out a bit though.
