Re: What's the Story?

I have been in contact with the seller of the 65 Ambassador that started this whole thread. It looks like the selling price will be too high for my wants. I have not even tried to explain the fact that this not a "Hurst" car but simply an "H" designation that Rambler dreamed up. Does anyone have any actual literature to prove what the "H" really stands for?
It would be nice to put the proof out there!
On the note of that 65 Ambassador. If the price was to stay low enough for me to actually buy it. I would use it to turn my Conv into a 990 "H" convert. Although now that I think about it, If I was to do this I would have to find an "S" to use instead of the "H" to designate a Loaded Softop :] Or a "P" for Propane powered! Buick had some "S" types that I might be able to snag the insignia off of.

>It really looks bad when a respected publication makes stupid mistakes like this! So much for credibility. Hurst didn't modify any factory cars until the late 60s, I couldn't find any mention of a Hurst modified car until 1968.
