A: If you plan to get on it, I wouldn't run the stroker with a 904. It'll likely have more HP than 304s and most late model 360s. 727 isn't hard to come by. I'll even have a case for sale soon (I'm swapping the Jeep guts into a Mopar one, so I'll have the 2WD output shaft as well) Looks like I'm going ahead this weekend with a 4.0L swap (along with the HO EFI and AW4) from a '93 Grand Cherokee parts rig I just picked up into my '84 J10. In an effort to get our house ready to sell by the end of next month, I'll be selling my '84 XJ project too (I have an offer of $400 for it. I just put that much into it with another 2.5L, new clutch and EFI flywheel) I'll be putting some parts from the '93 ZJ into it (possibly front axle and defintely front coils to lift it) I also picked up a '95 YJ (Wrangler) 2.5L and 5 speed with the EFI system I was going to put in. (wish I got that before I spent the time putting the carbed motor in!) I have a spare NP207 and even have a 4 cyl TBI 904 trans to go with. From: <mail@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: Stroker questions To: mail@xxxxxxxxxxxx Thanks everyone. I will definately recheck the strokers site. I did that once before the itch took hold and I committed myself. My '65 440 is complete except for a modern engine-tranny so it's time to treat her to a transplant. This engine rebuild will be slow as the 232/AT is still running so sweet and I have so many other things to do. I have this 87 block, traded a set of heads for it, so I will stay with that one. I don't want the serpetine belt and I plan to stay with carbs, I am building a tri-carb manifold for it, plus points so this will be try and fit deal. But I have time and lots of parts. What tranny is sweet for the strokers. I have a nice 904 but no flex plate, can I use the 258 plate. I'm gonna stay with an AT as this is my driver and I get lazy sometimes.....Russ
