Maybe talk to Joe Fulton about that $300 American. There are a few things you can do to the old flat head, but not much! It's rated at 90 hp, but has a very restrictive exhaust. A 2" pipe and $20 turbo muffler are good for 10 hp easy! It's a slow turner, but LOTS of grunt at low speed. So you can't drive it like a modern sports car. Can't do the in-line six that way either -- shift shorter than you would like and use the low end torque instead of revving it high. Even racing I can shift my car at 3500 or so rpms and get about the same times as reving it to 4500-5000, where it starts losing power. Seems complete, maybe just needs a little TLC to get it running. It's in Redwood City. I'm in SoCal, can anyone take a look at it for me? Lots of times on cars under $1000, especially if they'vve not sold for a while, sellers will take almost anything to get rid of them. I'd prefer an AMC (Hornets, Concords and Eagles especially since I have three Americans and an 88 Eagle) so that if necessary, I can part it out afterwards if I can't flip it. > > Can anyone help? > > Best wishes, > > Richard Truesdell > Yorba Linda, CA > > > > ============================================================= > Posted by wixList Archiver -- http://www.amxfiles.com/wixlist > > > .. > > > > . ============================================================= Posted by wixList Archiver -- http://www.amxfiles.com/wixlist
