The B&M universal type floor shifter will work. Almost any cable operated floor shifter will work, but you will have to modify the cable bracket to fit the B-W trans. The shift lever on the trans isn't an issue. If you don't like the B&M look to rod shops. You can also use the floor shifter from any mid 60s and later AMC, but the early 60s shifters typically used a console and metal floor hump (screws down). You need the hump, could hide the shift mechanism with a large four speed boot and eliminate the console. The small shifter used in Gremlins, Pacers, and all the small cars will work, and is suspiciously similar to Ford Pinto/Mustang II/Maverick/other mid size model shifters. I'm not certain if they use a metal screw down hump like the older ones or not. On May 19, 2005 mail@xxxxxxxxxxxx wrote: > I have a 70 Ambassador sst with a column shift Automatic.
