Re: Anyone interested in a 180 MPH "stock" speedo for the 1979-83 AMCs?

A: I did that for my stroker powered '84 J10. With 44" highway Michelin M&S
tires, 4.10 gears, .70 O/D and 300 ponies, I figure breaking the 100 mph
barrier won't be much problem. (my 304 powered '73 J4000 can do that speed
now till the trans starts slipping and it doesn't have O/D! Well, the 16%
O/D in the Tcase will make a little difference with 33" tires and 3.73
gears. Makes it more like 3.13 ratio and then taking into account for going
from 235/75/15 to 33" tires, it comes to 2.73. No wonder my speedo is
accurate! <G>)

Hi Everyone,
I was going to install a 180 KPH speedo unit into my Spirit, along with a
Clark
Brothers adapter that would make the KPH into MPH.

I realize not everyone has a "need" for a 180 MPH speedo, but you never know
when it might come in handy! ;)

If you're interested, I'm asking $50 for the entire setup, which includes
speedo unit from the dash and the new gear-reduction adapter from Clark
Brothers (attaches between tranny speedo output & speedo cable).

Anyone interested, please email me back at <amundaza@xxxxxxxxx>

Thanks!

Sincerely,
Greg Taylor :) <><
