Re: Voltage Regulator advice

A: The Motorola on my '73 J4000 has tested as "charging trouble" for the
past 2 years and yet it's never let me down! Eventually I will replace the
regulator or go to a 1 wire alt.

Use a 55 Amp Motorola for an A/C equipped car.
You can use a stock replacement regulator. What I would do is get a 55 Amp
alternator and put it in place, carry the 35 amp and a the old regulator for
replacement parts. They are small and you can probably get them in the
underfloor storage area all wrapped up and ready for emergency use.
The Motorola stuff has some quirks, but is usually fairly reliable. I have
a 55 amp that I would send down to you, but I need it for the Convertible. I
plan on running it and carrying a 35 amp for a spare, Hmmm, Where did I hear
that before??? :]
