Frank: not all Hornets came with boosters mounted directly to the firewall. Our Project Hornet is getting a booster from a 78 Concord (stand-away mount) and it's mounting in the car just like the booster that's in the Three-Jeffs-possible-future-project 73 Hornet hatchback.
In fact, I can't quite remember what models and applications would have had a firewall mounted booster. I know the Javelins and Rebel/Matador/Ambassador models had the stand-away mount, and I've seen quite a few Concords with a stand-away mount...at the moment I can't remember how the booster mounts in my Spirit, but I seem to recall it having a stand-away booster as well. I remember having plenty of clearance when doing something with the rally-pack wiring where it came through the firewall just above the booster.
