These are the best photos of a restored Nash Quad showing how the axles and 4x4 system was made. I have read that all three differentials (a diff was used in the transfer case) could be interchanged. After looking, they must mean the carrier inside the case. The front and rear axle units might be interchangeable if the unit will "flip" inside like a VW transaxle (moves ring gear to opposite side, allowing it to run in reverse). Interesting how the diff is a separate case on top of a beam axle with geared hubs! Transfer case looks pretty typical. Except for the diffs building a replica would be pretty easy -- this is as simple a truck as it gets! Hmmm... I might consider building a scaled down replica for driving around the farm when I retire... ============================================================= Posted by wixList Archiver -- http://www.amxfiles.com/wixlist
