I am a fan of miniature model railroading as well as AMC cars, and have accumulated many of the toy Tyco Autoloader HO bi-level auto rack cars with '68 AMX's and '68 Camaro's on them. One question on full-scale operation, though, is which roadname(s) were used to haul American Motors cars from Kenosha cross-country? I have no idea which railroad operated mainly up in that area, or which several, and which autoracks would be prototypical, ie that were mainly used to transport the AMC cars to their destinations. If anyone can shed some light on this, I'd appreciate it. I doubt tri-level auto racks were as common, but maybe they were used? Anyone with AMC / Railroad experience welcome to comment on this one for me! LOL. Here's several roadnames on some tri-level autoracks that are on sale, I am thinking of getting some C & O anyway for my area ( Virginia ), but wouldn't mind some from a Wisconsin operating area, either. Here's the list : HO B & O AUTORACK TRI LEVEL RTR HO NY CENTRAL AUTORACK TRI LEVEL RTR HO CANADIAN NATIONAL AUTORACK TRI LEVEL RTR HO CANADIAN PACIFIC AUTORACK TRI LEVEL RTR HO C&O AUTORACK TRI LEVEL RTR HO GM&O AUTORACK TRI LEVEL RTR HO WESTERN MARYLAND AUTORACK TRI LEVEL RTR HO CB&Q AUTORACK TRI LEVEL RTR HO NORTHERN PACIFC AUTORACK TRI LEVEL RTR HO GREAT NORTHERN AUTORACK TRI LEVEL RTR HO BURLINGTON NORTHERN N AUTORACK TRI LEVEL RTR If any of these particular roadnames were used to haul AMC cars, I'd like to know about it, thanks. Jerry Casper Woodbridge, VA Hopes to model the Kenosha AMC autorack yard some day...( article was in a past Model Railroading magazine with pictures from the mid-'60's with old Ramblers...awesome! Showed the whole AMC train yard used to load up the autos...strange looking truck trailers, though, the "mobile parking lots", which rested at a slant when not attached to the tractor...would be interesting to model those.) __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
