The transmission crossmember on Javelins is mounted on the bottom side of the "frame rails". The 70 Ambo for sure uses the exact same crossmember as I salvaged one from a 70 360 Ambo and it matches the Javelin crossmeber 100%. There are two different positions in the front to rear plane that the crossmember can be mounted to. These two postions are relatively close to each other and offer no help for my situation. I assume the dual position is for automatics or manual transmission differences. I looked again tonite and saw that there is really only about one inch difference in the elevation between the T5 mount and the cross member, and two inches horizontally. It is so close. I began working on other things to let myself ponder on this for a bit and also hope some one would tell me how they solved the problem on their T5 swap into a Javelin. Armand Armand, how and where is the crossmember mounted? I don;t recall off-hand how the small car tranny crossmember goes in. On the big cars it fits between the rails. It might be easier/better to move the entire crossmember, even if it means a little welding is involved.
