Some years ago I owned a '85 Isuzu Pickup with the Diesel engine and 5 speed. As with LPG, you learned where the local stations were that sold diesel. I started going to a local place on a backstreet until one time they changed and started selling off-road fuel only. Price dropped ~50% iirc (7 yrs ago) because of the lack of road taxes. You couldn't put it in your tank, but could put it in a bed mounted tank to use in your tractors or whatever. I always thought you could set up an "off-road" tank and transfer it to the main one either manually or through a hidden connection, but I sure wouldn't want to face the consequences if I was caught! In the end, I sold the truck (not due to this situation at all), so never thought much more about it. I don't know how strict the government is in tracking down uses of off-road fuel, but you'd almost have to have a diesel tractor or some other piece of equipment sitting around to justify it if you did want to do this, and I'm not sure It's worth it or the risk of aggravating the government. It wasn't in my case! Jim Boone Mims, FL ============================================================= Posted by wixList Archiver -- http://www.amxfiles.com/wixlist
