Re: power steering pump replacement



I looked a little deeper in the IPC and it shows that the support bracket in ther back of the pump was used only on AC equipped cars. Should have done my homework better.

Jay, it it's of concern get a piece of flat bar from the hardware store and make one. Could be that it stabilizes the pump enough to increase the life of the front bearing. Might be a mid year addition or a dealer installed item when there were problems. Could also be something that people left off when working on cars -- these things are old!!
