Re: A/C in a V8 1972 Gremlin...hoses?

I don't have any pics handy, but I'm pretty sure there was only one set of brackets. If there is about the same room side to side in the Gremlin as the Javelin (I know the Javelin is at least 2-3" wider in the engine bay) you should have no trouble. As for the hoses, do they enter the firewall at about the same place as the Javelin? I seem to recall they do, but you should check. Many AC shops and nearly all hydraulic shops make hoses for about the same price as ready made for low volume applications. I'd put a late model Sanden compressor on because it works better and takes less power. It will use O-ring hose ends, while your original AC unit in the car uses flare ends. So you'll need hoses made anyway. If you have a hard time finding ends, check this company out (thanks to Tom J.!): http://www.rparts.com/index.asp. Any hose maker can crimp the ends for you. The crimp tool is expensive, the lowest price I've seen is $165.50 (www.acsource.com). This company also has other p!
arts, including universal under dash evaporators.
