Sort of -- there has to be a vlave for the amount you want. So far I only know of two valves -- 1100 and 900 psi. Those are the only two pressures I've seen given for GM power steering systems. It is quite possible there is a 700-800 psi valve on some of the four cylinder cars, maybe as low as 600 on a Vega (Chevette used rack and pinion). As far as I know the rack and pinion cars regulate pressure at the pump, not the steering gear. Could be just the Ford unit, as that's the commonly used hot rodder piece....
