RE: Wheel & tire sizes with back spacing

Hi Al,
you want 4.75" backspacing, and you won't have any issues. 4.5" will get
you by but you "may" have a minimal amount of rubbing during un-even
compression (like pulling in to a gas station at an angle). You can always
trim the insides of the wheel lip. 5" of back-space gets your tires rubbing
on the leaf springs.

Hope this helps.

Subject: Wheel & tire sizes with back spacing

Was wondering what listors have done with the rear tires on a 71 - 74
Javelin. I want to use 275-60-15 tires on 15 x 8 wheels but not sure of the
backspacing, Can I get some help?

Thanks in advance....AL
