I bought a junkyard tranny for my Spirit a few years ago (TF 904 to go behind a 258) and at some point the 904 had been rebuilt, which apparently included a new Chrysler-style torque converter with the ring gear on it. Happily enough, the ring gear on the converter didn't interfere at all with the ring gear or flexplate already on the engine, so it was just a simple bolt-together operation. It's been about 3 or 4 years now that this combo has been together with no issues. It's likely you wouldn't have any issues with the TCI converter. I assume you need the Chrysler style converter ( starter ring gear is welded on the torque converter). The part number for this converter is 141300. It will give you a stall speed around 2400 rpms, yet remain very driveable. Thank you for considering TCI.' If I order from them do I need to tell them to remove the ring gear? Thanks. Marty
