Tom - go to www.car-parts.com and
find yourself a JEEP 999 from a late
model wrangler - stick that in and be
done with it.

You'll spend less that way and have
major great results.

A Trans Go Auto / Manual with
a large capacity CAST unpolished
deep pan - BIG oil cooler with a
fan & a B&M or AutoMeter Trans
Temp Gauge is the best way to go.

I know the Wrangler used the A-999
up thru year 2000 ? Anyone have
the years near by them ?

My local old-car-friendly trans guy wants $750 to rebuild my 904,
with
a TransGo kit and a rebuilt converter. Work quality is high.

Is this a decent price? I know about the 998, I just don't have
one, and only a mildly hopped 258 is going in front of it.

Is a solid 2nd band worth it? Any mods that will get me increased
longevity? Clearly I'll put a good cooler on it.

I want to drop it off Tuesday, install the @#$%^ thing in two
weeks.
