A: There are at least 4 local '80-'82 FSJ pickups with T5 stock local to me and maybe 10 more on the full size list. Maybe not World Class, but they are fairly tough. From: "Joe Wyatt" <jwyatt@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <mail@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: Re: Identifying the T-5 5 Speed Date: Mon, 7 Mar 2005 15:53:37 -0600 Jim according to BW-TREMEC T-5 Identification Chart the first T-5s were made and sold for 1982 model AMC/Eagle/Jeeps, Nissan 280Zs, GM, cars, S-10, Ford, T-Birds and Mustang. All they did was Modifier the T-4 and add a 5th gear, This is now known as the Non World Class T-5, in 1985 they beefed it up for Ford and the new World Class T-5 got its name. The cost went up with the WC, by looking at the 262 versions of the T-5 its looks like AMC never used a WC. I will send you a copy of the Tag List I have put together so far, still need info on Gearing 1 to 5, used in AMC's if any one has specks to Tag number. Advanced Adapters makes a heavier duty upgrade to swap in it's place, but only 4x4 version (I think). I had a Tremec behind the Turbo Nissan 280ZX I picked up long ago (I swapped it for a regular 280Z 4 speed and resold the car then sold the trans alone for $1500. I found out afterwards they were selling the trans new from Nissan for $1,000 and picked up a couple more and resold them, making a nice little side profit) Jim Blair, Seattle, WA '84 J10 Black Jack (getting lifted and stroked!), '73 J4000 304/TH400/QT tow truck http://www.virtualjeep.com AMC list subscription options link http://www.amxfiles.com/amc-list/options.cfm
