A: You need a steering wheel puller (unless you are muscular like me on a 
good pain free day and can pull it off) and then a GM lockspring puller 
plate. (I do it often w/o the plate but reinstalling is another story!) That 
will free up the steering (you can temporarily put the wheel back on or go 
further in, under the turn siganl assembly and remove the steering lock 
tumbler) I keep a spare slider switch with me that I can plug in above the 
brake pedal and use a screwdriver to start cars/trucks with this system (I 
even modded a gasket scraper that I could slide under the wheel and unlock 
the steering with for emergency car moving, like when I am re-poing a car 
from a scumbag that never paid for it and even bounced a check on the first 
payment!)
