I feel for you Jamie! I've had to do this to get a regulator out of a Wagoneer. It's tough! Once you get the bolts out of the regulator you'll be able to drop the regulator and window enough to open the tailgate. You only have a small access hole to work through, so taking the window loose from the regultor is out of the question. Once the tailgate is down you can manuever it around okay, but I really don't recall it being possible with the gate up. Might be able to if someon is assisting and holds the window up (just press hard against it) before you get the last two regulator bolts out. If you have ratcheting box end wrneches take them! IIRC there is one or two bolts that the regulator arms cover, so you can't get to them with a socket. Should be 1/2" head bolts. Of course, if they would let you, you could possibly take one of those portable battery jumpers in there and use it to power down the window. Or, if you can reach it, you can take the motor loose from the regulator and then the window will drop. > Good luck > Jeff Reeves > On January 1, 2005 jamie smith wrote: > > > My dad broke the rear window out of his jeep wagoneer so I was going to grab him one while I was at Pull and Save yesterday. The only good one I could find was in a 1978 wagoneer with electric rear window. Of course the window was rolled up so I couldn't get it out so I was just going to pull the regulator/motor assembly so I could get the window and because of the position of the gears I couldn't get one of the screws out. Is there some way to roll down these electric windows without power? if I can get the window rolled down I can get the tailgate opened and get him the window. ============================================================= Posted by wixList Archiver -- http://www.amxfiles.com/wixlist
