No, there's no way to lower the window without power other than doing as you were---taking the regulator loose from the tailgate. Of course, if they would let you, you could possibly take one of those portable battery jumpers in there and use it to power down the window. Or, if you can reach it, you can take the motor loose from the regulator and then the window will drop. Yes, you can utilize the heated rear window in the 1973 model. All you need to do is remove the heated window without damaging any of the gridwork or connections going to the gridwork, then remove all the wiring harness from the heated system, starting at the tailgate and working forward to the dashboard to grab the timer and switch. By grabbing all the wiring, switch, timing box, etc, the heated window will be a pretty much factory installation by the time you're done. Theonly good one I could find was in a 1978 wagoneer with electric rear window. Of course the window was rolled up so I couldn't get it out so I was just going to pull the regulator/motor assembly so I could get the window and because of the position of the gears I couldn't get one of the screws out. Is there some way to roll down these electric windows without power? if I can get the window rolled down I can get the tailgate opened and get him the window. > > By the way, this jeep is set up for a rear window defroster but my dads (1973) isn't. Would it be possible to hook up the defroster in my dads? What would it take to do it?
