There is actually two things mentioned here. The first is alternator related. I have a 91 Wrangler Harness and accessories I bought from an engine that had set outside [ I didn't know that when I ebayed it!] and on top of it sitting out it was from New York and very salt corroded. So, I Ebayed a replacement alternator from a 94 jeep. It looked identical till I got it here and looked at the back. The 91 has a bolt on trigger and idiot light harness the 94 has a plug in. So, I found a connector that will plug in to that. It's not exactly right, but it will work. The second item is the CPS connector. 91 is round and has three round pins/sockets. 95 or so has a more modern looking three pin connector that is different. Advance adapters supplies the 95 style CPS and tells you to cut the connector off and solder on 21" leads then solder the leads into the original harness. Sounds like a poor way of doing it to me as any future replacement need, especially on the road would be a nightmare/ With my "parts harness" I will build longer leads into the harness and leave the CPS stock to allow for easy roadside replacement. I hope! Luckily I have a 95 harness with the correct " connector on the end.So I'm going to pull 24" of wire out of the " 95 harness with the connector then extend the harness with it. " That way, if I ever need toswap out the CPS it can be done with " a stock sensor for a 95 instead of needing to splice it in and " solder it. Which is what Advance Adapters wants done, YUCK! are the '94 and '95 connectors actually different? i thought all ho cps were the same.
