forgot about that!
others besides volvo used aluminum warners - bmw for ex. used 35s,
51s, 55s, and 65s. also jag iirc. in the '70s and well into the '80s
europe had very few home-grown auto trannies and many bought the
warners.
volvo now uses the aisin-warner aw4 in their rwd cars, and for a long
time the same zf auto as the amc-renault premier in their fwd cars.
