Here's what I've got: 1 owner '63 Rambler Classic. All stock. Well cared for but sat in garage for many years. Car ran before I bought it. I had the 196 aluminum block engine rebuilt. New brakes, hoses, radiator, water pump, distributor, plugs, etc. stock fuel pump and carb. I've put about 200 miles on the car, mostly last fall. Run it now and then during the winter. Idles and runs well. Took it out for a spin today. All was well for 20 minutes or so and them began to stumble. Added some throttle and smoothed out but stumbled and finally died at idle. Car restarted and ran with extra gas but needed to keep RPMs up to prevent rough running and eventual stall. Fresh gas in tank with added fuel filter in advance of fuel pump. Prior owner said tank was cleaned after the car was brought out of storage. I plan to change the fuel filters and look for any gunk in the fuel pump. I'm pretty new to this so any advice is welcome.
