Hoping someone on here might be able to give me some ideas, I am stuck.A friend inherited a 1985 Chevy van that has been sitting for 3 years. It has a throttle body. I couldn't get it to start without starting fluid and it would not run. I pumped all the old gas out (which was kind of orange) and put in 5 gallons of fresh gas. I still can not get it to idle or rev up, although if I keep moving the throttle I can keep it running but not very well and it backfires and shoots flames (which the 12 year old that was helping me thought was cool). I don't know too much about throttle bodies, does anyone have any ideas what to try to get the thing running? Thanks Jamie Smith Spokane, WA 1966 Rambler American Station Wagon (for sale) 1984 AMC Eagle Limited Station Wagon 1986 AMC Eagle Station Wagon 1978 GMC 3+3 3/4 ton Crew Cab 1992 Dodge Grand Caravan -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...URL: <http://list.amc-list.com/pipermail/amc-list-amc-list.com/attachments/20120714/fd443c74/attachment.htm>_______________________________________________ AMC-list mailing list AMC-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxhttp://list.amc-list.com/listinfo.cgi/amc-list-amc-list.com
